Benefits for people arriving from the Ukraine
Emergency regulations have been laid so people can access Universal Credit and jobs support from the first day they arrive.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer delivered his Spring Statement to Parliament on 23 March 2022. See the main points and links to the full statement and supporting documents.
All COVID-19 travel restrictions removed in the UK
From 4am Friday 18 March, all COVID-19 travel restrictions will be lifted, including the passenger locator form (PLF) for arrivals into UK, as well as all tests for passengers who do not qualify as vaccinated. This change, therefore, removes the need for unvaccinated passengers to take a pre-departure test and a day 2 post arrival test.
Move to the UK
People from the Ukraine who need to travel to the UK urgently for compassionate reasons should apply for a visa in the usual way at the nearest VAC if they can travel safely and include clear compelling or compassionate reasons for their visit in their application
Ukrainian workers already in the UK
Ukrainians already in the UK with a visa will be able to extend their stay by extending their visa or switching to another immigration route, where eligible, even if their visa does not normally allow them to do so.
